A letter from the Prime minister's office

A while ago we wrote persuasive letters to a range of different people and then we posted them.  We have been getting replies from Mr Macmillan, the student council, the Rotorua council and then today Chloe got a letter from the Prime minister's office. Pretty exciting!

Father's day gifts and speeches

Don't have time to buy Dad a gift? That's ok send along a few $ with your child tomorrow and it'll be sorted.

Speeches

I have been super proud of our students being courageous in delivering their speeches this week. I know it is difficult for some students but everyone who has presented their speech so far has done great. The class and I give each other feedback and one thing to work on. Our class has also been super supportive and kind towards each other.

Cultural and sports day

This is a heads up that the last day of the term is a cultural and sports exchange with other Catholic schools at JPC. All students will take part in sports and/or cultural events. We are also planning and running food and drink stalls. We will require donations of baking and parents to help on the day. Please email Mr J should you be able to offer help.

This group of students has been working really hard to develop their Maths knowledge. Miharo tamariki.

Aerodynamics

This week we tested our knowledge of aerodynamics by making and flying a range of paper planes. We graphed the flight distances and then reflected on the results. Hopefully we can incorporate our knowledge of aerodynamics into our Wonder Rocket building.

The longest flight was over 17 metres. Sean and Lorenzo were the class champions so they'll go up against the Room 1 winners next week.
